Following the past 6 months of activity the date is drawing near for the Business Forum. The active presentation of our new and existing products the the Chinese and Australian investors will be on Friday 5th at the Robe Institute, in the Regional Development Association Limestone Coast organised event.
This will be followed by a full program of events on the Saturday and Sunday including more produce presentation and consumption, regional foods and drinks. Dragon Boat Racing as well as the street parade featuring the acclaimed Central Victoria Lion Team. As well as the official opening of the Pai Fang (Welcome Gate) commemorating the 16,500 Chinese adventurers who landed at Robe before commencing the 500 km walk to the Victorian Gold Fields in the 1850’s.
The walkers will be leaving Robe at 1 pm on the Saturday. Beginning the Great Walk marking the 160 th anniversary of the Land Of Cakes disembarking her full passenger list of Chinese. Originally on the 17th of January 1857.With an official welcome by the Victorian Premier at the end of the Great Walk.
With the latest visit by a Chinese Television crew currently in production. The program covering Robe will be aired in Jiangsu Province where the towns sister city Changzou (pop 5 million) is located. The working visa videos of three recent accommodation guests have been completed. One is currently edited and on you tube prior to being included in the Presentation Stall material.
